workshop: July ’17 TRIZ level 1 open non-certification workshop @ Pune
The common problems that all the teams need to solve were:
- how to improve product functional performance
- how to develop new concepts
By the end of the workshop, all of them had got their hands dirty on how to develop new concepts and reduce either Product cost reduction / Simplifying complex system / reduce part count / eliminate harm in the system. Also, the usage of Function oriented Search helps in bringing new thinking on how function can be accomplished in other ways. For example: There are 230 ways a solid can be moved, which means, for any given situation, there are as many ways a function can be done differently that leads to novel solutions by solving adoption problems.
Team did a great job and way to go!

workshop: May ’17 TRIZ level 1 open workshop @ Chennai
Product development cycle is a function of understanding market needs, gaps in competitor product or offerings, develop new concepts and importantly execute. From a technologist or engineer or research standpoint, the most critical aspect is to define right problems to solve and come with multiple powerful solutions.
In this context, TRIZ brings many tool kits. Interestingly, the companies that participated in this workshop are market leaders in their domain and exploring new solutions by defining Inventive problems.
The other interesting part of the workshop was how Value engineering professionals came with new concepts that reduce more than 30% of product cost.
Team did a great job and way to go!

workshop: Apr. ’17 TRIZ level 1 open workshop @ Bengaluru
It’s always a challenge to define right problems to solve. How structured Innovation can bring “wow” solutions using structured approach that is repeatable and reproduce able.

workshop: Mar. ’17 TRIZ level 1 open workshop @ Bengaluru
Product cost is one of the most differentiating aspect for any product. In the context of India, it is even more important. One team worked on applying the learning from this workshop and came with solutions that are inline with the basic expectation… reduce cost over 25% beyond known means (like: changing material, optimizing material, beating suppliers, scaling up operations, sourcing from new countries, etc.,). The other team worked on addressing an insufficient product performance issue and came with solutions using the physical contradictions.
I am confident and happy that the team realized the potential and application of this learning in solving right business problems! Way to go!

workshop: Feb. ’17 TRIZ level 1 inhouse workshop @ Vadodara
During the workshop, the team explored the concept of Trimming, Function oriented search of TRIZ methodology and defined new function carriers that can be used to reduce cost significantly. They defined inventive problems that needs to be solved. Mentoring would be started soon to bring the learning into day to day application.

workshop: Jan. ’17 TRIZ level 1 open workshop @ IMTMA
Cost is always a key challenge in product development. The team wanted to go beyond the traditional ways of reducing cost… (modifying material, optimizing material, beat suppliers, source from virgin locations or scale up the production) and participated in this workshop.
During the workshop, the team explored the concept of Trimming using TRIZ methodology and defined new function carriers that can be used to reduce cost up to 50%. They defined inventive problems that needs to be solved. Wait to see a novel seat coming soon.

workshop: Dec. ’16 in house TRIZ level 1 MATRIZ certification workshop
Another great session on Technical Innovation. The team had great participation and post workshop mentoring to bring the learning of TRIZ into application by solving the Technology problems addressed in the workshop. Way to go!

workshop: Sept. ’16 TRIZ level 1 MATRIZ certification Open workshop
TRIZ is not necessarily meant for developing new concepts for new product development, rather, it can used to solve shop floor issues.
Using the Technical and Physical contradictions, team came with multiple novel solutions that are practicable to be adopted in the shop floor.

workshop: May. ’16 TRIZ level 1 MATRIZ certification Open workshop
TRIZ is not necessarily meant for developing new concepts for new product development, rather, it can used to solve existing problems.
After the TRIZ level 1 workshop, team members taken the learning to the next level!

workshop: Jan. ’16 in house TRIZ level 1 MATRIZ certification workshop
A documented evidence suggest that idea to product ratio is 3000:1 and it varies from industry to industry. One way to reduce the ratio is by increasing the quality of ideas. This workshop is a classical example of reducing the product development cycle from months to few days. Team generated multiple wow solutions during the workshop at almost 1/15 the time.
The key is to bring structure to problem solving that can help in reducing significant cycle time by clearly identifying right problems to solve and come with high quality solutions.

workshop: Dec. ’15 in house TRIZ level 1 MATRIZ certification workshop
Ability to come out of psychological inertia is very critical to develop radically new concepts that increase ideality by increasing functional value, reducing harm and cost.

workshop: Sept. ’15 in house TRIZ level 1 MATRIZ certification workshop
The most critical aspect to generate innovative ideas is to identify and know ways to eliminate Psychological inertia. Each team member worked on problems post workshop to bring the learning from workshop to day to day work! Way to go!
